Examen is a simple daily prayer for growing our awareness of God and the maturity of our souls.
This 4 month cohort meets every 3 weeks to learn how to pray the examen. We will explore this prayer together through the writings of wise guides and the experiences of one another. Our hope is that we will come away with new friendships and a more personal daily experience of Jesus.

What does our time together look like?
Our time together will consist of some guidance from me, and a lot of conversation around that. Some of this guidance will be fundamental concepts relevant to the growth session you sign up for, but much of it will also be in response to our conversations.
But it will require a lot of participation from you as well. Each growth session will generally require some intentional work on your part between sessions, as well as your full attention and participation when we are meeting together.
You are a spiritual director... are these sessions 'spiritual'?
Well, yes and no. By nature, most personal growth is spiritual in nature, depending on what your belief system is.
My background as a spiritual director is in the Christian faith, but I approach these topics from a broader perspective so that anyone might benefit.
Can't you just recommend a good book for me?
I'm sure I can...I've read hundreds and hundreds of books over the last few decades.
If you are considering any of these growth sessions and want to read a good book on the topic first, drop me a line. I will be glad to recommend one.
HOWEVER!... the goal of these growth sessions is to help you grown not only in knowledge, but in experience, and ultimately in wisdom.
Together we will discuss some deep and rich views that might be found in good books, but more specifically we will focus on how they relate to your life so that you can benefit from them.
What is the time commitment?
The amount of time we will spend together varies based on the topic, but they all include 2-6 hours together, spread over 4-8 weeks. Our times together can be in 1 or 2 hour blocks based on works best for your schedule. We will have a brief consult at the beginning of our time together to determine the schedule we will follow.
How much does a wisdom session cost?
The cost for each growth session varies based on the amount of time that is scheduled. Generally, they average out to about $150 per hour that we meet together.
What happens after we're done meeting?
By design, these sessions are intended to be very focused on a particular area of your life. While I hope you will learn things that will benefit you for years to come, they are intensive by design.
It may be that you appreciate our time together and want to consider engaging in another topic as a wisdom session. Or it may be that you want to define a rhythm to keep meeting to explore the topic further in the form of personal consulting, or spiritual direction.
I'd be glad to explore any of these options with you as we wrap up our initial time together.
